چکیده
One of the most significant demographic trends in the Alps is the out-migration of young people.Nevertheless, in certain areas, young people are deciding to return to their valley of origin aftercompleting their higher education. Through research in a valley of the Eastern Italian Alps, thispaper addresses this complex phenomenon, by analysing the relationships between theeducation level of young people, their choices to stay, return to, or leave the valley and thereasons behind these choices. Job opportunities, quality of life, and sense of belonging wereidentified as key factors. The research also considered the necessary policies to minimise braindrain and maximise brain gain.

Mountain forests produce a large number of ecosystem services that are going to be affected byclimate change. We are expecting an increase in high altitude species that could result in thedecrease in resinous and subalpine species. These changes in species could adversely affectbiodiversity and timber production. However, we also observe an increase in productivity thatfavours t...
متن کاملAlpine flora of Hezar mountain (SE Iran)
Iran is a mountainous country. Hezar Mt., is an isolated mountain with the highest peak of 4465 m (above sea level) located in southeast of Iran. This paper aims to provide a general overview of alpine phytodiversity of Hezar Mt. Alpine regions are above timber-line which is dependent on the climate, slopes and human activities. The timberline at Hezar Mt., is varying from 3200 m (North slope) ...

To establish the behavioral indicator of reproductive success of female captive Alpine musk deer(Moschus sifanicus), the focal sampling was used to record the individual behaviors at Xinglongshan MuskDeer Farm (XMDF), Gansu province, China. Conducted between June 2008 and January 2009, 31 adultfemales were observed, of which 26 had successfully bred in the previous year, and five of which wereb...
متن کاملAnalysis of Growth Hormone Gene in Alpine and Saanen Goats Using PCR-SSCP Method
In this study the genetic polymorphism of growth hormone (GH) gene as a candidate gene in livestock was investigated. Blood samples were randomly collected from 34 Alpine and 42 Saanen goats. DNA was extracted from blood samples and a 365 bp region of exon 5 of the GH genewas amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). PCR products were analyzed using single strand conformation polymorphism (...
